When to go

Most trips are decided the other way round from how they should be: people choose a place, then discover the month works against it. This page inverts that. Pick the month you can actually travel, and see which of our 20 destinations is at its best then, which is in a weaker period, and why.

Each destination shows two separate things: our own stated stronger and weaker periods, and the sourced historical record for that month (2015–2024). Historical records describe what a month has typically been like. They are not a forecast.
