Short version: SnapDestinations is a free information website. Read it, link to it, use it to think with — but check anything that costs you money against an authoritative source, because the travel decision is yours.

1. Acceptance and scope

By using this website you accept these terms. They apply to the website itself and to nothing else; there is no separate agreement, account or subscription to accept.

2. What SnapDestinations provides

A free, informational website about travel destinations. There are no accounts, no subscriptions, no payments, no bookings, no availability data and no user-generated content. Nothing here is a commercial offer, and we are neither a travel agency nor a booking intermediary.

3. Permitted use

• You may read, link to, quote briefly with attribution, and share pages freely.
• Personal and ordinary editorial use is fine; no permission is needed to link.

4. Travel decisions remain yours

Our destination profiles, decision summaries and evidence indicators are tools for thinking, not recommendations tailored to your circumstances. You decide where to travel and you remain responsible for that decision, including its cost, safety and legal requirements.

5. Accuracy, completeness and availability

We work from sources we name and we label editorial judgment as such, but we do not guarantee that the site is accurate, complete or continuously available. Coverage is deliberately selective, and depth differs between destinations and between topics.

6. Information changes over time

Transport arrangements, opening seasons, entry rules, safety conditions and costs change, and historical weather statistics describe a past period rather than your trip. See the travel information disclaimer for how we treat time-sensitive facts.

7. Third-party information and links

Factual data comes from third parties under their own licences, listed on Sources & data. Destination photographs are served from Wikimedia Commons under the licence shown beside each image, and the site loads a web font stylesheet from Google Fonts. External sites we link to are outside our control, and linking is not endorsement.

8. Intellectual property

Original SnapDestinations text, design and code belong to SnapDestinations. Third-party data and images remain subject to their own licences and attribution requirements, which we record and display. Do not republish substantial portions of our editorial text as your own.

9. Prohibited misuse

• Do not attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site.
• Do not scrape at a volume that degrades service for other readers.
• Do not present our editorial conclusions as the output of a measurement or a score.

10. No warranties

To the extent permitted by law, the site is provided as it is, without warranty of accuracy, completeness, uninterrupted availability or fitness for a particular purpose.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on the site's content, including travel costs, missed activities or changed plans. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing limits your rights under mandatory consumer law.

12. Changes to the site and to these terms

We may change, add or remove content and features at any time, and the site may be unavailable from time to time. Material changes to these terms will be reflected in the date at the top of this page.

13. Applicable law

The site is operated from Norway, and Norwegian law applies to the extent permitted. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the EEA, this does not remove the protection of mandatory law in your country of residence.
